Ern Baxter's Definition of Zion

This is Ern Baxter's critically important & comprehensive definition of Zion from his message from Psalm 2, on "Zion – The People of God."

“Zion was and is a combination of divinely designed ingredients which makes it not only the city of David, but the city of God. Zion points to the larger new covenant city whose inhabitants would be from all nations. It stands for the redeemed covenant community, celebrating and declaring the Divine presence and purpose in and through a supernaturally united brotherhood. It is here the Lord commands the blessing. We, the writer to the Hebrews says, are come to Mount Zion. God’s King reigns in Zion and sends forth His power out of Zion. Zion is the covenant community. The headquarters of God’s King is the redeemed community. You are Zion! You are a part of Zion and the corporate ruling power of God’s King doesn’t come out of a preacher, or a leader, but it comes out of the Zion community, the redeemed people of God, who are gifted by Jehovah to become the representatives of King Jesus, and to declare not only His glory and love but His ruling, sovereign authority to the nations. You are Zion!”

Rod Seago, an apostle of Jesus Christ laboring in South Africa and the Dean of the ATS School of Biblical Studies,  writes: "This message of Ern's is unbelievable. I think it is one of the best that I have heard him."

Brother Baxter was ATS Chancellor George Kouri's spiritual father and mentor. You can get a number of Brother Ern’s messages, which have been digitally converted, from www.brokenbreadteaching.org .
