The Way: Return To The Roots Of The Jesus Revolution
|
What was it about the launch of the Jesus movement in first century that
was so powerful? Cities were shaken, cowards became champions, and outsiders were connected to God's family. In this course we will look carefully at three distinctives of pre-domesticated Christianity as found in the Book of Acts. We will discover the Christ of the Way, the Call of the Way, and the Community of the Way. As we look at the revolution Jesus launched the student will be empowered to move from the safe religion of the modern church back to the radical roots of the Jesus movement. The goal of this course is to help leaders take people from the amusement park of institutional Christianity to the wild ocean of authentic Christianity.

While AD310 will of necessity deal with the technical matters, i.e. the dating, authorship, and the literary style of the Book of Revelation, the principle focus of AD310 will be on the proper interpretation of the prophetic symbols used by Jesus and also on the importance of understanding the outline or chronological order of prophetic events taught by Jesus throughout the last week of His earthly ministry. This same exact outline or chronology is followed by Jesus in the Book of Revelation, and it is the interpretive key to properly interpreting the prophecy given by Jesus in the Book of Revelation.
B. B. Warfield, the great Princeton Theologian, once declared, "the Book of Revelation scarcely advances beyond the teaching of Jesus' given on the Mount of Olives the last week of His public ministry."

Understanding the Liberal-Fundamentalist Controversy and Its Impact on the Modern Church
|
A critical study of the invasion of theological seminaries and universities by French and German rationalism in the 18th and 19th centuries, resulting in what came to be called higher criticism and provoked the Liberal-Fundamentalist controversy. Liberal scholars concluded the Bible is a book of myths created by men to explain the unexplainable. This viewpoint caused a reaction on the part of certain scholars who responded that the Bible is not only true, it must be interpreted literally. This, combined with the failure to accurately understand the mysteries of Christ, His Kingdom and Church revealed by the Holy Spirit to the fathers and prophets of Israel and expounded to the Jews by Jesus and His apostles, resulted in fundamentalist scholars concluding that Messiah's Kingdom had been postponed until the secret rapture of the Church and the second-coming. The Last Days According to Jesus and the Prophets of Israel
NT461 is a comprehensive overview of the last days of the Old Covenant age and the establishment of the New Covenant administration of the Kingdom of heaven according to Jesus and His apostles. NT461 is divided into four major parts and utilizes Dr. Kouri's teaching notes and video teaching.
In Part I Dr. Kouri deals with the preaching and teaching of Jesus during the last week of His Ministry. It includes His triumphal entry, the cleansing of the Temple, the parable of the Wicked Tenants, the parable of the Wedding Feast, Jesus' prophecy about the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, and His amazing explanation of His prophecy in His Olivet Discourse.
In Part II he deals with Jesus' chronology of the Messianic Kingdom. This includes an in depth study of the outline or chronological order of Jesus' parable of the Wedding feast, the Olivet Discourse, and Jesus' prophecy recorded by John in the Book of Revelation.
In Part III, Dr. Kouri deals with Jesus amazing prophecy about the times of the Gentiles recorded in Luke 21:24. This part includes Jesus' understanding of the fulfillment of the vision of the prophets of Israel regarding Messiah's Day and the times of the Gentiles (i.e. the conversion of the nations and peace on earth as envisioned by the prophets).
Finally, in Part IV Dr. Kouri unfolds Romans 11, Paul's commentary on Jesus prophecy concerning the fulfillment of the times of the Gentiles in Luke 21:24. And based upon Paul's revelation of the fullness of the Gentiles and the fullness of the Jews, Dr. Kouri closes Part IV with a Kingdom scenario about the future salvation of the gentile nations, which includes the Arabs, and the provocation of the Jewish people to jealousy, which will result in the future conversion of the fullness of the Jewish people. If you enjoyed Dr. Kouri's book "The Sign of the Kingdom", you will love this provocative course of study, as it is much more comprehensive.
This course is a Bachelor level course, but it is required as a prerequisite for both the Master's and Doctoral degrees.

|
Revelation of John
|
Perhaps the most important book in the New Testament Canon, the Book of Revelation is a prophecy given by Jesus to the Apostle John to encourage Christians at a time in their early history when persecution and the very real threat of martyrdom were causing their faith to waiver. The Old Covenant age was about to come to an end with the judgment of God upon Jerusalem and destruction of the temple. The New Covenant age was being inaugurated and revealed. While the message of the Book of Revelation carried strength and encouragement to the early Church, it also still speaks to us in the 21st century. Although there exists enormous controversy surrounding the interpretation of this highly symbolic book, it nevertheless has a clear message regarding the present administration of the Kingdom of God and Christ's rule over the nations today. This course is designed to help clear up the confusion and give the student a greater understanding of the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
|
| NT464 |
Eschatology of Paul |

|
Contrary to what many think, the tabernacle of David is not the same thing as the tabernacle of the Ark of the Covenant erected over the Ark of the Covenant. Instead this phrase is specifically used by the prophets to refer to the restoration of David's Kingdom and house. While worship is an important aspect of the restoration of the tabernacle of David the primary issue is the restoration of David's Kingdom or the establishment of Messiah's Kingdom. BS330 is a critical study of the promise God made to build David a house and the interrelation of David's house and God's house. When Jesus died, He redeemed the tabernacle of David, David's Kingdom or house. When God raised Jesus, He raised-up Zion and moved the throne or seat of David's Kingdom from the earthly into the heavenly and established it at His own right hand in heaven. Jesus of Nazareth, David's greater Son is ruling the nations today from the throne of David at the right hand of God in heaven.

Isaiah, Prophet of The New Creation
|
This is a critical study of the prophet Isaiah. Next to David, Isaiah has the greatest revelation of Christ and His Kingdom of anyone in the Old Testament. Isaiah saw by the Spirit of prophecy the ministry of John the baptist, Christ's ministry of preaching and teaching, His miracles of healing, His gathering and training of the twelve apostles, His suffering and death, His descent into hell, His victory over Satan and sin and death and hell in the resurrection, the establishment of the New Covenant in His body and blood, His enthronement on the throne of David on a heavenly Mt. Zion, the raising-up and establishment of the New Jerusalem as the mother of the saints of God, the outpouring of the Spirit, the bringing forth of many sons to glory, the gathering of the remnant of Israel, the destruction of apostate Israel and the harlot City of Jerusalem, all nations coming to the light of the Church's rising, learning Christ and beating their swords into plowshares.

Ezekiel: Vision of The Son of Man
|
A critical study of the the prophet Ezekiel who in the Spirit saw the Son of man riding the clouds of heaven in power and glory. By the Spirit he also saw the Harlotry and apostasy of Old Covenant Israel and the abomination of the House of God, and against the backdrop of the coming judgment of God, Ezekiel saw a spiritual vision of the New Israel (the Church) being raised up as a great army. By the Spirit of the Lord Ezekiel saw the New Temple (the Church) and the river of God flowing out of it and healing the nations in Messiah's day.

Daniel, Time Prophet
|
Daniel is the great time prophet of the Old Testament. The Lord revealed to Daniel that in the days of the Roman Empire Messiah's Kingdom would be establish. Later the Lord sent Gabriel to show Daniel the exact time of Messiah's coming; 483 years after the degree to rebuild Jerusalem (this is after it's destruction by the King of Babylon) the Messiah would appear to Israel. This prophecy was literally fulfilled by the baptism of Jesus by John, and as the voice of God declared, "This is my beloved Son..." Three and a half years later Jesus was crucified or "cut off" exactly as Gabriel had declared. When Jesus began His ministry forty days later, He boldly declared, "the time is fulfilled, the Kingdom of heaven is at hand..." What "time" was Jesus referring to? The time spoken of by Daniel the prophet. In this same prophecy Daniel prophesies the end of the Old Covenant age and the establishment of Messiah's administration of the Kingdom of heaven.
