Degree Objective
The bachelor's degree in Apostolic and Prophetic Studies (B.A.S.) is designed to equip the student with a working knowledge of biblical theology and ministry in preparation for effective service to the Church of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God. It is the first in a series of 3 ATS degree programs specializing in apostolic and prophetic studies. The graduate of the bachelor's degree program will have the ability to understand, communicate and work with the apostolic foundations of the faith and to function effectively with other ministries in the area of the students grace gift and calling. Consequently, this comprehensive program requires the successful completion of a minimum of 120 credit-units. It is the prerequisite for the subsequent graduate degrees for advanced theological and ministerial students.
Degree Requirements
The graduate of the bachelor's degree program will
receive a bachelor's degree in Apostolic and Prophetic Studies,
together with an emphasis in a specialization matched with the
student's grace gift and calling. As a result, this program will
consist of 3 areas of concentration. The first area is the core curriculum. Twenty eight courses, totaling 84 Units, are required of all students receiving the bachelor's degree.
In addition to the core curriculum the student is required to choose a minimum of 6 courses from an area of ministry specialization.
These courses form a concentration of study in the student's area of
grace gifting, calling, and interest: Apostolic, Prophetic,
Evangelistic, Pastoral and etc.
The third area of concentration is the elective portion
of the program. To round out the bachelor's degree program, the student
will complete a minimum of 6 courses of elective study.
These can be selected from any of the respective ATS Schools. Students
are encouraged to choose courses pertaining to their individual
interests.
Altogether, these 3 areas of concentration total a
minimum of 120 credit-units to be successfully completed prior to the
issuance of the bachelor's degree.
The courses are designed to be taken in a progressive
series of study based on levels of advanced development. For instance
courses in the 100 series are designed for first year students. Courses
in the 200 series are designed for 2nd year students and courses in the
300 series are for 3rd year students. Each successive series builds
upon the knowledge and ministry experience obtained from the previous
level.
